STEM: Chemistry

Troop 540 scouts have are working on the Chemistry Merit Badge! After covering all safety steps, we learned about the periodic table, physical and chemical reactions, hydraulics and other exciting stuff. We used pH strips and black light to analyze various liquid solutions. We made a Cartesian diver work, watched a copper-sulfate substitution reaction, and discovered principles of combustion in a video, where a peep gets annihilated with a blow torch (fun!).
